Why we replaced WordPress with a custom framework
By The Northwind Team · May 20, 2026 · 4 min read
WordPress powers a huge share of the web, but for fast-growing businesses it can become a liability: plugin sprawl, a large attack surface, and performance that degrades as you add features.
We rebuilt our marketing site on a modern custom stack — Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind — with secure server-side form handling and first-party tracking we fully own.
The result: faster page loads, no plugin vulnerabilities to patch, clean webhook routing to our CRM, and a codebase our team actually controls.
This very post is rendered from local mock data. When we connect a CMS, non-technical editors will be able to draft, preview, and publish posts without touching code — and these pages won't change.
